Environmental Program

Environmental Program
In March 2012 the “Ecological Group” was founded at our center with 4 children, and since their first act of planting trees, the group has grown to about 20 children. A donation from the students of the College of Finance and Economics in May 2013 enabled the children of the center to plant over 100 yellow acacia and 50, two to three year old aspens on the grounds of the center. SCCYD’s teachers, workers, and children work together to raise cabbage, onion, cucumber, tomato, and pepper seedlings which are then planted at our summer camp “Od”. Each summer we grow and harvest potatoes, cabbage, turnips, carrots, beets, purple cabbage, onions, cucumbers and other vegetables on our 1.5 hectare plot at the summer camp.
